Bruxism Teeth Grinding
Hypnotherapy For Bruxism

Hypnotherapy for Bruxism
Most people grind their teeth from time, but when teeth grinding occurs on a regular basis the teeth can be damaged and other complications can arise, including jaw damage.
Thousands of adults in the UK are affected by this condition and it is usually caused by psychological stress.
Why do people grind their teeth?
Teeth grinding can be caused by stress or anxiety or both and may occur unconsciously or in your sleep. Because teeth grinding often occurs whilst asleep, you can be unaware that you're doing it.
Is Bruxism harmful?
In some cases constant teeth grinding can cause loosening of the teeth or wear down the teeth and, eventually, tooth loss.
What can you do to prevent tooth grinding?
Your dentist can fit you with a protective mouth shield to protect your teeth during sleep.
Bruxism symptoms include:
- Tooth sensitivity
- Facial pain
- Clicking in the temporo-mandibular joint
- Earache
- Headaches and unexplained facial pain
- A grinding sound at night that disturbs someone sharing your bedroom
